Death from Liver Disorders
Liver Pain can be an effect from malnutrition. This is because eating disorders can actually cause liver problems and digestive disorders. Eating disorders like bulimia and anorexia cause malnutrition in the body. Other disorders, like wheat or gluten allergies, coat the intestines and prevent nutrient absorption regardless of how much you eat.
Fatty food does not cause a fatty liver. It is a common condition that is seen in people who are overweight or suffer from diabetes. Explanations for a fatty liver include the transfer of fat from other parts of the body, or a spurt in the extraction of fat presented to the liver from the intestine. Another argument is that the fat accumulates because the liver is unable to change it into a form that can be removed.
Globe Artichoke is said to protect the liver and stimulates the growth of new liver cells. It is often used in cases of liver damage and disease and comes from the same family as Milk Thistle. A daily dosage of 6000mg is recommended.

Liver function tests are generally divided into four categories.
1) Tests based on the detoxification and excretory functions. The serum bilirubin test is typical. Bilirubin is an orange-colored substance in bile produced by the breakdown of red blood cells. When bilirubin levels are high, a condition called jaundice occurs. Too much bilirubin is usually due to increased destruction of red blood cells (hemolysis) or because the liver can no longer remove bilirubin in a timely manner.
2) Tests that detect damage to the liver structure. There are a number of enzymes in the liver. Elevated liver enzymes indicate that there is damage to the liver cells, or that there is an obstruction to bile flow.
There are several drugs which can cause damage to the liver when taken in excessive amounts and even when taken in normal doses. These drugs may cause liver sell damage as well as bile flow obstruction depending on the medication given to a person. They may be medications for tuberculosis, antibiotics, anesthetic drugs and antipyretic specially when taken in high doses.
Milk Thistle
Milk thistle (Silybum marianum) has been used since Greco-Roman times as an herbal remedy for a variety of ailments, particularly liver problems. Several scientific studies suggest that active substances in milk thistle (particularly silymarin) protect the liver from damage caused by viruses, toxins, alcohol, and certain drugs such as acetaminophen (a common over the counter medication used for headaches and pain; acetaminophen, also called paracetamol, can cause liver damage if taken in large quantities or by people who drink alcohol regularly.)
